Engineering thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics provide superior mechanical properties over traditional signage and packaging materials, each with their own strong points. From agricultural to medical to aerospace applications, the scope of engineering plastics is vast.

Plastics are inherently resistant to corrosive media and degradation will outlast traditional metal alternatives. From standard grade materials to custom filled composite grades that are tailor made to overcome engineering challenges.

PTFE

PTFE Virgin Skived

  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Very low friction coefficient

  • Sheet size 1200 x 1000 (comes in 30m rolls) from 0.25 – 6mm thick

Applications: Seals, valve seats, bearing pads, high temperature components in food processing and nonstick applications.

PTFE Filled

PTFE fillers are additives used to modify the properties of PTFE-based materials. These fillers can improve mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, wear resistance, and enhance its performance in specific applications. Most common fillers are Carbon, Bronze, and Glass in various percentages to suit the application.

PTFE Etched

Virgin PTFE grade for ram extrusion, compression and Isostatic moulding. Etched meaning the processed obtained by sodium naphthalene or sodium ammonium.

PEEK

PEEK Natural (Unfilled)

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a high-performance, high-temperature, semi-crystalline thermoplastic. This advanced material combines excellent wear resistance and very good mechanical properties, even under thermal load. It also boasts outstanding chemical resistance and a high operating temperature of 260°C.

PEEK Black

This black pigmented version of PEEK plastic demonstrates improved UV resistance in addition to the other typical PEEK properties which make this product an ideal material of choice for outdoor use. This is available in rod, plate, and tube in a variety of dimensions as well as available in a host of modified grades with various fillers to enhance its performance to suit your application. A few examples such as Carbon, Glass, Ceramic are available.

Mica

Mica consists of multiple layers of Muscovite or Phlogopite Mica paper impregnated with a Silicon binder.

Applications: Insulation between high temperature heat platens and moulds. Insulation in induction arc furnaces.

NAD500

NAD-500 is an asbestos-free cement board with excellent electrical properties. A high density cement board reinforced with inorganic fibres.

PA - Nylon

Nylon 6 Extruded

Cast Nylon 6

  • Filled grades available: DEMEX is a premium oil filled cast nylon having higher pressure/velocity capability (PV) than standard unfilled nylon. Molybdenum disulphide(MoS2) filled black and premium wax filled cast nylon
  • Weakness: Material is hydroscopic

Applications: Large diameter components, gear wheels, pulleys, guide bearings, slide bearings.

POM - Acetal
  • Very good dimensional stability & sliding properties
  • High rigidity & hardness
  • Very easy to machine
  • Good impact resistance at low temperatures
  • Very low moisture absorption (0.8% at saturation)
  • Good creep resistance
  • Food safe
  • Colours: Natural or Black

Applications: Bearings, cams, gears, conveyor rollers, gear wheels, precision machined components.

PE - Polyethylene

DEMPRO PE 300 (Extruded)

PET - Polyethylene Terephthalate

DEMPET

Polyester is specially formulated to provide improved toughness, and enhanced machinability. This PET polyester also offers excellent sliding and wear properties, and a low coefficient of friction. DEMPET’s superior chemical resistance, non-staining characteristics, and distinct lack of centreline porosity, makes it a desirable material for a variety of applications especially in the food industry that might involve solvents, cleaning chemicals, or direct food contact.

Black DEMPET also offers improved UV protection for external use applications.

Vesconite

Is a high-performance replacement for bushing and bearing materials. Offering a combination of high load-bearing strength, low friction and low wear. Vesconite, even in harsh and dirty working environments also does not require manual lubrication.

Vesconite has high dimensional stability, retains its strength under wet or damp conditions. and also displays negligible creep under high load.

Silicone Glass Laminate

Silicone glass is a laminated plastics material made from woven glass fabric, bonded with silicone resin. It is a rigid sheet material with good resistance to high temperatures, good electrical insulation properties, especially in applications involving high frequencies.

Epoxy Glass Laminate

Epoxy Glass Fabric Laminate is bonded with a high quality epoxy resin containing flame retardant additives. It has a high mechanical strength with very low moisture absorption and it offers excellent electrical insulation properties.
