DEMS is the official agent for Contact Engineering, a division of Actom (Pty) Ltd for the Eastern Seaboard of Southern Africa. In these regions, DEMS will promote their range of products and services together with providing "on-the-spot" technical service and back-up.

Contact Engineering is an accredited SABS ISO 9002 company and specialises in the manufacture and repair of electro-mechanical current-carrying and current-breaking components as used in power generation, rail transport, mining and heavy industry.

These items would include Commutators, HD Contactors, Brush Holders, Slipring Assemblies, Contacts and Flexible Connectors. DEMS is also able to manufacture and refurbish new switch gear, meters and gauges for railway applications.

As the appointed national agents for TUFNOL UK, DEMS also supplies a wide range of thermoset materials (industrial laminates) for use in the electrical insulation industry. We can offer the full range of TUFNOL products in sheets, rods and tubes as well as "in-house" machining and fabrication facilities, including manufacturing DMC items (Dough Moulded Compounds) in our modern factory in Central Durban.

DEMS also supplies CTX dialelectric silicone compound grease which is specially formulated to protect sliding electrical contact surfaces. This dialectric compound has been formulated to solve many high and low voltage electrical system problems.
